Energy bites (safe for school lunches)

My son is an athlete so we try to help him make good sensible food choices that will help fuel him since he is constantly training on and off the ice. However, he is still a kid and wants some sort of treat or dessert in his lunch.  Most packaged dessert or energy bars like the organic “Cliff” bars for kids still have nut products in them and after trying the “Made Good” brand of granola bars and bites he wasn’t impressed. So I came up with this energy bite which he loves, is totally safe for school, and keeps in the freezer.

Energy Bites

2 Scoops Rivalus Promasil Isolate Powder – Decadent Chocolcate (you can use any chocolate flavoured protein powder source here)

1 cup quick oats

1/4 cup honey

2 tbsp milled flaxseed

4 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

1/4 cup mini choc chips or organic cocoa nibs

1/2 cup WOW Butter

Add all ingredients into a large mixing bowl and use a mixer or spoon (or gloved hands) to mix the ingredients together well. Roll into balls (think just a bit smaller than a golf ball) and put in a mini cupcake liner.  Store in an airtight container in the freezer, use as desired.
