We are all crunched for time and some days its just impossible to “get to the gym”. However, there are so many exercises out there that don’t require any equipment at all, just your body weight and if done properly, can result in a fantastic workout that you can do anywhere/anytime.
Circuits (or HIIT training) is a highly effective form of exercise that requires the body to work in short bursts of very high intensity, followed by moderate intensity or low intensity, then rest, then repetition.
There are countless combinations of these exercises you can do. I’ve created a short video with a routine that I have used dozens of times at home, while traveling, at the gym, and even at the park while the kids played in an effort to get a workout in. You can modify where necessary, do the workout for time (as in give yourself 30 minutes to do as many rounds as possible) or do it a set number of times (as in complete the whole circuit 3/4/5 times). Either way it’s a great way to change it up, get your heart rate up and still get a workout in when your racing the with the clock.
IN A PINCH WORKOUT Pt. 1 – do each circuit 4 times or as many rounds of the circuits you can in the time you have i.e. 30 minutes.
60 Jumping T’s or Jumping jacks
30 Alternating lunges (15 each leg)
20 Jump Squats
15 Burpee’s (with or without pushup)
25 Pushups (knees/full/leg up)
30 Mountain Climbers
60 Second Plank hold (elbows or regular)
